Naming the company after the first initial of his three children gave the owner the constant drive to succeed and keep the business moving forward. D.T.R. has established its roots on in the community and has made Grand Rapids its home.
While still maintaining the family atmosphere, D.T.R. has earned the trust and accounts of many large statewide clients including Celebration Cinema, Brann's Steakhouse, Steelcase Pyramid, and Star Theatre. While most of the service and installs keep them busy in the greater Grand Rapids area, they have been requested and successfully completed jobs from Indianapolis to New York. MEET THE OWNER - TED R. REIDSMA
Owner-Ted. R. Reidsma. Ted has been in the sign business his entire adult life. He began when he was about 16 years old working full time at a local sign shop among many other jobs. At 19 he joined the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. After the Army, he tried his first go at owning a sign business, "Ted R. Signs" where he offered not only sign service, but wood-carved signs and airbrushing (other talents he has always had).
While still on his own, he was sub-contracted by another sign company to help on an install that lasted three months. After that job, they decided to join forces and Ted went to work full time and was the lead installer for over 15 years. When the economy took a turn for the worse, the company was forced to shut his doors and that is what prompted Ted to go back on his own and start D.T.R. Sign Co.
From the start he had always prided himself in providing signs made in the U.S.A. Ted is licensed, insured, and provides professional service at competitive prices. He is often referred by other local sign companies for neon work. He offers speedy service with a smile. "We will light up your day".
